MacFamilyTree offers easy web page creation and is smoothly integrated into Apple's .Mac and our own exclusive Internet service on MacFamilyTree.com.

New: manage complex research with Bookmarks!
Our brand-new Bookmarks feature is ideally suited to help with complex genealogy research: you easily keep track of where you still need to work, while jumping back and forth between those persons and families you've tagged with Bookmarks.

Animated quick navigation
Our Family Assistant guides you through genealogy data and lets you graphically create your own family tree. MacFamilyTree 5 intuitively visualizes your relations and the fully animated Editor allows for quick navigation from one person's familiar context to another.
 MacFamilyTree's Person Editor
New in MacStammbaum 5.5: Search faster!
MacFamilyTree 5.5 sports a brand new Search. Results are being shown while you are typing. Searching for person, sources or other information has never been easier.
Never get lost!
With version 5.2, our new 3D view »Virtual Tree« allows you to freely navigate through the complexity of your family relations. The Virtual Tree visualizes your entire genealogy databases. From all perspectives, close-up and from a broader angle, MacFamilyTree renders a three-dimensional mesh of persons and their relations. Highlight common characteristics using different colors and shapes. Navigating the »Virtual Tree« is simple: just point, click and drag with your mouse, or use a dedicated »Navigator« to literally fly through your own ancestry.

Global perspective
We have replaced the World Map from MacFamilyTree 4 with our "Virtual Globe", a spherical view of the Earth. On the globe you can retrace the paths of your ancestors, aided by a huge database of locations worlwide and satellite imagery. For geolocations not yet in the database, we have added a quick link to Google Earth, but you can always define them manually if need be.
Choose between a variety of charts and views!
Now based on WebKit! — New Reports and Lists for analysis and reference
Just like its predecessor, MacFamilyTree 5 offers a wide variety of different ways to analyze and visualize your data. Our brand-new WebKit-based Reports can now be interactively customized: Person, Kinship and Distinctive Persons Reports, Lists for Places, Events and Birthdays. You define which information you require. The new Reports also offer the same flexibility towards font styles and sizes which made MacFamilyTree's reporting feature so popular already. As with charts, edited Reports are now stored within the family tree for your reference at any time.
 Editing the new Kinship Report
The new Person Report: interactively edit titles, text and pictures!
Integrated web publishing
You may publish your family tree online, either onto a web page provided by the Synium Software GmbH, a free service to all our MacFamilyTree 5 customers, or via MobileMe, Apple's webhosting service. With MacFamilyTree 5.4 we are raising the bar even higher and proudly present the much improved web export with new themes and many more new options.
 MacFamilyTree.com
Do-it-yourself
If you run your own website, you may want to show the family tree somewhere on those pages: just include the HTML code somewhere on your site. Whichever way you choose, MacFamilyTree 5 supports all of them just fine. Your friends and family may access your family tree with their usual Web browser, with or without password protection.
Use charts for illustration
As a major improvement over previous versions of our software, also edited and saved charts can now be included in HTML pages created with MacFamilyTree. This gives research teams a far more focused way of collaboration.
