Let me write your diary
And if you want, I will automatically gather...
How the weather was today
Weather data is automatically downloaded from Accuweather.com. Highest and lowest temperatures as well as 29 different states from sunny to snow storm is determined based on your location.
Which websites you visited
Website history from your default browser is automatically backed up. That way, you'll always find that website again you forgot to bookmark.
Who you contacted
Contact data is derived from Mail as well as from iChat.
Which applications you used
So how much time did you spend writing support mails today? How much distraction did surfing the internet or chatting with friends cause? How long did the photo retouching in an image editor take?
How long you've been working on your Mac today
So you had a long conference call, a meeting or an appointment. How long were you away from your Mac?
Which music you listened to
Isn't it pretty interesting not to only have your iTunes counter but also to see, which song really rocked back last year?
I will ask you:
- How do you feel today?
- May I take a picture of you?
- Shall I make a screenshot?
You only...
- enter where you've been today
- detail which topics were relevant for you
and write everything off your chest just as you would do with a conventional diary.
Do you remember?
Do you know what you did last summer on your Mac?
Who did you communicate with via e-mail, what was your colleague’s friend’s name who helped you with that technical problem?
Which headlines moved the world, did the sun shine or did the mediocre weather force you to stay at home in front of your computer all day?
What did your haircut look like - and how did you actually feel?
That's a lot of questions that no one could answer without meticulously writing a diary for hours on end, right?
Chronories supports you
Wouldn't it be nice if you opened your diary at the end of the day and a major portion of this tedious work had already been done because Chronories had already gathered and written down information for you?
Chronories takes the manual labour part and does a tremendous job filling most forms itself. You, on the other hand, concentrate on writing things off your chest, things that are important right here, right now. Simply set which information to gather automatically and leave the rest to
Chronories which will in turn ask you short and simple questions where it can't find information by itself.
Tell Chronories how you are feeling today
Do you want to take a screenshot?
That way, you’ll never forget about your diary again - because your diary doesn't forget about you.
From almost ancient days
Do you regularly clean up your Inbox? Is your browser set to automatically empty the browser history? What about the struggle of finding the right place to store your screenshots? Chronories takes care of these problems. Conveniently find your online purchase receipt with that software serial number even after it has vanished from your mailbox. Let Chronories ask you daily if you’d like to take a screenshot or if you'd like to archive a snapshot of yourself using your integrated iSight or any Quicktime-compatible webcam out there.
Diligent gatherer
Chronories does not just collect information, but may also become your go-to deposit. Not just for short-term use but for years to come!
Get the greater picture.
Look at your information from two vastly different perspectives: browse through your data date by date or get an overview using the comprehensive diagrams section. This will not only give you information on a certain point in time but lets you spot certain developments and tendencies.
Take a look at the mood graph, for example. Chronories asks you how you feel once a day. Your answer is assigned to the current date, of course, allowing Chronories to analyze and draw a diagram from that data. This may help you conclude which circumstances, say a news headline or diary entry, influenced your mood positively or negatively. Maybe it's time for a change?
See how you felt in the past few days
Not just your mood, but almost all data can be displayed graphically and may tell you more in bars or pies than it does on your diary pages. Some examples are:
- Weather trend
- Most often used contacts
- Computer usage
- Topic clouds
- Bar chart for application usage
- Line charts
etc, etc, etc ...
Ensure your private sphere
Diaries are of highly private nature. Nobody wants their writings to fall in the wrong hands. Be it paper based or digital, the problem is always the same. At least your hand-written diary can be hidden under your bed, but your Mac stands on your desk all day. So do you want to password-protect your entire Mac, encrypt your entire hard drive or burry your diary writings somewhere deep in the system? A little too much effort for just one application, don't you think?
 Access only for you
Unbreakable
Enter Chronories, sparing you the effort once more with its integrated password protection and data encryption. Please carefully choose and memorize your password, as without it, neither you, nor anybody else will ever be able to read your diary again. A lock protecting your hand-written diary could be picked or forcefully broken, the 256 bit AES encryption, on the other hand, is like a swiss bank account. Without your password, nobody will ever sneak a peek without you actively allowing them.
